Dr. W. DANIEL LANDES is Professor of Piano and Chair of the Piano Dept. at Belmont University in Nashville, TN.

B.M. (Shenandoah Conservatory of Music); M.M. (University of Maryland); D.M.A. (Southern Baptist Theological Seminary). Post-graduate studies: American University, University of Arizona. Student of Henry Black, Roy Hamlin Johnson, Maurice Hinson, and Jerzy Sapieyevski. Publications include original music (Sonata for Trombone and Piano, The Four Seasons of Marrcrest), coauthor of The Electronic Encyclopedia of Hymnology), instructional textbooks (Class Piano Resouce Materials) and hymn tunes (The Faith We Sing). Workshops, papers; piano performances throughout the United States. Original compositions performed by The Nashville Ballet and The Chattanooga Sympnony and Opera.

Member of faculty: Indiana University Southeast, 1980-83; Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, 1978-83; West Virginia University, 1986, 1987; Belmont University since 1983, Blair School of Music at Vanderbilt University since 1996.

Member, Society for Electro-Acoustic Music in the United States (SEAMUS), The Hymn Society in the United States and Canada.
