Hymn Tune Quizzes

Students will be required to become familiar with 100 hymn tunes selected from the broad history of Christian hymnody. A list of specific tunes can be downloaded here (PDF format):

Hymn Tune List2 (tunes arranged by Quiz #)

The Quizzes will be available ONLINE and one quiz will be required each week for a total of 10 weeks.

Most of the tunes are in the United Methodist Hymnal. You can play/sing the tunes directly from the hymnal in order to become familiar with them. Or, you can play midi files or sound files of the tunes directly on the various Hymn Tune Quizzes. For example, see Hymn Tune Quiz #1.

Each Hymn Tune Quiz has a DEADLINE that must be met -- that is, you must complete the quiz by the deadline or you will not be able to submit it. There are no extenuating circumstances for this. Each quiz must be completed by the deadline or you will get a ZERO for that quiz.
