Nahum TateNahum Tate (1652 -1715) is important in the history of English Hymnody for his collaboration with Nicholas Brady in the compilation of the New Version of the Psalms... (1696). Several psalms from Tate and Brady's New Version are still in use today:
A Supplement to the New Version was published in 1700 which included metrical paraphrases of various scripture passages, including Luke 2:8-14:
The Supplement also produced several well known tunes which are still in use today:
