William J. Reynolds and Milburn Price. Fourth edition, revised and enlarged by David Music and Milburn Price. A Survey of Christian Hymnody (Carol Stream, Ill., Hope Publishing Company), 1999.

William J. Reynolds originally published this book in 1963 under the title, A Survey of Christian Hymnody, (NY: Holt, Rhinehart, Winston, 1963). The book was revised in 1977 by William J. Reynolds along with Milburn Price and the title was changed to, A Joyful Sound. The latest edition was revised and expanded by Milburn Price and David Music and is published by Hope Publishing, Co., Carol Stream, Ill.
